Bob Allen Award

The Bob Allen Award is presented to a member who has gone above and beyond being just a club member. This person will be recognized for a significant contribution they have made to the Wake Forest Camera Club.

Examples of contributions to consider but not limited to:

• Those who have served the WFCC in an elected or volunteer position.

• Offering new ideas for the club.

• Shown improvement in their photography.

• Those excelling in their photography.

• Help others with learning new things in photography.

• Making visitors and potential new members and/or new members feel welcome.

The nomination process:

• A nominee must be a current member for at least one year.

• All current members are eligible to be nominated except for past Bob Allen Award recipients. (Exception below)

• After five years, a previous Bob Allen Award recipient would again be eligible.

• All current members can submit nominations.

• The reasons for nominating a person should be included with the nomination.

• A member can only submit one nomination.

• Members are not required to make a nomination.

• Nominations will be emailed to a selected board member.

• At the end of the nomination period, persons receiving only one nomination will be automatically eliminated.

• The board will reduce the number of nominees to the top 3 or 4 people who received the most nominations.

• The board can use club seniority as means of breaking ties and / or reducing the number of nominees.

• If the board has to vote, any board member that is a nominee would be excluded from the vote. A paper ballot will be used.

The voting process:

• Prior to the January meeting, the list of 3 or 4 nominees plus the comments why they were nominated will be be emailed to the membership for review.

• The person(s) name who made the nomination will not be revealed.

• At the January meeting, voting will be held using paper ballots.

• One board member and one non-board member will count the votes.

• In case of a tie, club seniority will break the tie.

• The results will be given to the person responsible for obtaining the certificate of recognition or plaque. The board will decide the form of recognition.

The presentation of the Bob Allen Award will be made during the Wake Forest Camera Club banquet in February.

Note: If no one receives at least two nominations for the Bob Allen Award, no award will be given for that year.
